About MoonMaid Botanicals

MoonMaid Botanicals is a woman-owned and woman-operated herbal wellness company dedicated to creating small-batch botanical products with a focus on natural ingredients, thoughtful craftsmanship, and respect for the Earth.

Founded in 1995 by Cynthia, an herbalist and the founder of MoonMaid Botanicals, the company began with a desire to explore natural botanical alternatives and create products made with carefully selected herbs and plant-based ingredients. Over the years, that original vision has grown into a collection of herbal creams, salves, teas, supplements, and body-care products.

Rooted in Herbal Tradition

MoonMaid Botanicals draws inspiration from traditional herbal practices and the natural properties of whole plants. The company develops products around botanicals such as wild yam, herbs, nourishing oils, and other plant ingredients, creating formulas intended to become part of everyday personal-care and wellness routines.

Rather than relying on synthetic hormones or unnecessary additives, MoonMaid emphasizes botanical ingredients and straightforward formulations. The brand states that its products are free from synthetic hormones, chemicals, and preservatives and are never tested on animals.

Small-Batch Craftsmanship

A central part of the MoonMaid approach is small-batch production. Products are made in limited quantities with attention to freshness, consistency, and quality control.

The company also highlights a slow-method process in which botanicals are infused for extended periods and prepared using low-temperature methods. This traditional, hands-on approach reflects MoonMaid's commitment to treating its plant ingredients with care throughout the formulation process.

Organic and Wildcrafted Ingredients

MoonMaid Botanicals places importance on responsible ingredient sourcing. According to the company, the herbs used in its products are either grown by MoonMaid, wildcrafted through reputable sources, or purchased from established suppliers of organic and wildcrafted herbs.

The company's botanical work is closely connected to its home in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Its gardens and surrounding woods, known as Medicine Woods, are part of the United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary network.

Products for Everyday Wellness

MoonMaid's collection includes wild yam creams, topical salves and balms, herbal teas, liquid herbal supplements, body-care products, and other botanical preparations.

The range includes products created for different stages and aspects of women's wellness, as well as products for men, personal care, and everyday herbal routines. The company also offers products such as natural lubricant, body oils, breast balm, and herbal teas.

Good for People and the Planet

Environmental responsibility has been part of MoonMaid's philosophy since the company's early days. The brand describes its approach as a commitment to reducing waste, reusing and recycling materials whenever possible, and making choices that are considerate of the environment.

MoonMaid also states that its products are cruelty-free and that it uses recyclable packaging practices where possible.

A Continuing Herbal Journey

For more than three decades, MoonMaid Botanicals has continued to build its business around botanical ingredients, traditional herbal knowledge, and small-batch craftsmanship.

From its beginnings in 1995 to its current collection of herbal wellness and body-care products, the company remains focused on creating thoughtfully made botanical products while maintaining a close connection to nature and responsible sourcing.
