About Longevity Botanicals

Longevity Botanicals is a mushroom wellness brand built around a simple principle: when you buy a mushroom supplement, you should know exactly what is in it.

Founded by Hugh Hale in 2015, Longevity Botanicals grew from decades of study and a desire to create mushroom extracts with greater transparency and intentionality. The story began in the early 1990s, when Hugh spent three years studying herbology under Master Herbalist Gerhart Hanswell and continued his education in holistic nutrition and other areas of natural wellness. His interest in functional mushrooms developed further through his exposure to traditional mushroom use in China.

A Search for Better Mushroom Extracts

When Hugh began sourcing mushroom extracts, he found that many products marketed as mushrooms were actually made primarily from mycelium grown on grain. This experience led to a fundamental question: why was it so difficult to find supplements made from the mushroom itself?

That question became the foundation of Longevity Botanicals.

The company focuses on extracts made from mushroom fruiting bodies rather than using grain as an ingredient in the finished product. Its philosophy is to keep formulas straightforward and make the important details visible to customers rather than hiding them behind vague blends or unnecessary ingredients.

Focused on Fruiting Bodies

Fruiting bodies are at the center of the Longevity Botanicals product philosophy. The company states that its mushroom extracts are made from the mushroom itself and that its labels identify the extract ratio and beta-D-glucan percentage.

The current range includes individual mushroom extracts and blends featuring mushrooms such as Lion's Mane, Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, Turkey Tail, Tremella, Maitake, and Agarikon. Products are available in powder, capsule, and bulk formats.

Thoughtful Preparation and Transparency

Longevity Botanicals believes that quality starts before a mushroom reaches the final package. The company sources certified organic mushrooms where applicable and uses hot-water extraction for its mushroom extracts. It also emphasizes clear labeling so customers can see information about what they are purchasing and how the products are prepared.

Rather than creating a large number of complicated formulas, the brand describes its approach as a focused range built around intentional ingredients and straightforward information. This philosophy is intended to give customers greater confidence when reading a product label and choosing a mushroom supplement.

From Research to a Growing Community

Although Longevity Botanicals began from Hugh Hale's long-term interest in herbalism and functional mushrooms, the company has grown into a small team serving customers through its online store and wholesale channels.

The brand's current product range is available in different formats to fit different routines, from powders that can be mixed into drinks to capsules and larger bulk formats intended for formulators, cafés, and resellers.

Our Commitment

At Longevity Botanicals, we believe that trust starts with transparency. Customers should be able to understand what they are buying, what ingredients are included, how the product is prepared, and what information is available about its composition.

Our goal is to continue creating thoughtfully prepared mushroom products while maintaining the standards that have guided the company since its beginning: intentional ingredients, clear labeling, careful sourcing, and respect for the natural qualities of mushrooms.

Longevity Botanicals was built from decades of curiosity and study. Today, that same curiosity continues to guide the brand as it explores the world of mushrooms and develops straightforward products for people interested in incorporating them into their everyday wellness routines.
