About Essence

Essence is a wearable aromatherapy brand created around a simple idea: what you breathe in can influence how you experience your day.

The story of Essence began when founder Mike DeLeeuw found himself on an airplane surrounded by unpleasant smells he could not escape. That experience inspired a question: what if there were a discreet and convenient way to carry a preferred scent wherever you went?

That question led to the creation of the Essence Ring, a reusable nasal diffuser designed to sit discreetly beneath the nose and deliver the aroma of essential oils directly where they can be enjoyed.

A New Way to Experience Aromatherapy

Traditional aromatherapy can involve diffusers, candles, bottles, or other equipment. Essence was created to make the experience more portable and personal.

The Essence Ring is made from silicone and designed to rest comfortably at the base of the nose, with the scented material positioned close to the nostrils. This allows users to enjoy their chosen scent while traveling, working, relaxing, or going about their everyday routines.

Designed for Everyday Life

Essence products are designed around real-life situations where people may want a familiar or enjoyable scent close by. The rings can be used at work, while traveling, during long shifts, or at home.

The brand's current collection includes scents and blends associated with different moods and routines, including refresh, focus, breathe, relief, relaxation, and sleep.

Essential Oils at the Center

Essential oils are an important part of the Essence experience. The company uses high-quality essential oils across its scent collection, offering individual oils as well as blends.

Customers can also refresh their reusable rings by adding a small amount of essential oil. According to Essence, a ring can be reused more than 30 times with proper care and refreshing.

Thoughtfully Designed and Reusable

The Essence Ring was designed to be discreet, portable, and easy to reuse. Unlike powered diffusers, it does not require batteries, electricity, or a large device.

Its reusable format is intended to make wearable aromatherapy practical for everyday use. Customers can clean the ring, allow it to dry, and refresh it with essential oil when the scent fades.

Made in the USA

Essence states that its rings are created and manufactured in the United States. The company has also developed its business beyond individual customers, with its products being used in settings such as hospitals, dental offices, medical spas, day spas, and hotels.

More Than a Scent

For Essence, aromatherapy is about creating small moments that can make everyday experiences feel more enjoyable. A familiar scent can become part of a morning routine, a long work shift, a journey, or a relaxing evening.

The brand continues to develop different scents, essential oils, diffusers, accessories, and wellness-focused products around this philosophy.

Our Purpose

Essence was created to help people incorporate the benefits and enjoyment of essential oils into everyday life in a way that is discreet, portable, and convenient.

From the original idea inspired by one unpleasant flight to a reusable wearable aromatherapy system used by customers in many different environments, Essence continues to focus on making personal aromatherapy simpler and easier to take anywhere.
